FUNCTION AT CARDIFF

Farmers' Union Prizes The annual social and dance of the Cardiff branch of the Fanner.,' Union was hold on Thursday night. The function was entirely successful. The hall was filled with dancers from all the surrounding' districts, and for Ike presentation of prizes won by the district, farmers in connection with the union's field competitions there were present Mr C. A. Wilkinson, M.l\ Mr H. E. Blyde (president of the North Tnranaki provincial executive) Mr T. T. Murray (prosidsnt of the Stratford sub-provincial executive( and Mr J. M. Smith (judge of the fit Id competitions.) The first part of the evening was occupied with a concert programmo by Mr E. K. Cameron and party from Hawera. Songs, accompanied by Mrs P. 0. Veale, were sung by Miss A. "Whyte, Mr C Lamb and Mr M. !' Jones and duets by Mr Lamb and Mis. G. Trotter and Messrs Land) and P O. Veale. Mr W. W. Thomas enl.v tained 'with elocutionary items.
