I Members of the older generation of j residents of Stratford will learn with] regret of the death of Mr. Jeremiah Sheahan, who for the past 40 years j had been engaged in the carrying j business in the town. A few weeks past he suffered a nervous breakdown j and the end came quickly on Monday last at the age of G 7. In his younger days "Jerry," as he was j widely known, was a fine athlete, and \ competed successfully in pedestrian j and wrestling events in Taranaki. Of j •i genial disposition he was popular! among a wide circle of friends, by whom his passing will be mourned. The deceased was born in Victoria' and was a member Of the well-known j family of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. j Sheahan, of Whanuakura, Patea.
