The death occurred in Dunedin at the age of 74 years of Mr. J. A. Johnstone, managing director and first chairman of Directors of Messrs. Wright, Stephenson and Company, Ltd., with which firm he was associated for 58 years. The death occurred at Gisborne, after a brief illness of Mr. William Howard Buswell, engineer to the Poverty Bay Electric-Power Board since its inception in 1926 and for 14 years previously electrical borough engineer. He was aged 54 years. The Rev. Father Dowling,. S.M., M.A., F.R.E.S., rector of St. Patrick's College, Silverstream, Wellington, wi.l arrive at Stratford tonight to officiate at tae marriage of Miss Mary Massey and Mr. L. H. Joblin. Father Dowling is an old boy of the Stratford District High School and was at the school under Mr. F. A. Tyrer. He is a distinguished scholar and has done particularly good work in the field of economics. He is the first rector at St. Patrick's College. During his stay at Stratford Father Dowling will be the guest of Mr. and Mrs. R. Wood.
