Following this the men in the Renown mine ceased work and those in the mines of the Taupiri and Glen Afton companies did the same in symj paihy. The Pukcmiro and Wilson mines i continued working. The following resolution was adopted i by all the parties represented:— (1) That it is agreed the Renown Company will at once withdraw its notice so that the mines will be open for work under the present agreement on Wednesday. (2) That the chairman will call a meeting of owners to be held not later than May 11 to consider trading conditions. (3) That in future the Renown Company undertakes to give 14 days' noticeto its miners of any proposed stoppage. The agreement made at the conference I will be submitted to the miners at a gc-ri?? of meetings, when a decision will be made whether work is to be resumed on Wednesday.
