COST OF BULK POWER

Wellington, April 20. The Dominion Executive of the Farmers' Union decided to-day to support the action of certain electric-power boards in endeavouring to secure a reduction in the cost of bulk power as supplied to local power boards. Delegates contended that the time had arrived for a revision of the whole' system of power board charges. Mr. W. J. Poison, president, said the department was not making a profit and a price reduction would only fall back on the Consolidated Fund. Mr. Mulholland said it was plain the problem involved the question of a redistribution of charges. Considerable relief could be given without, throwing the burden upon the cities.
