KNOCKED DOWN BY CAR

Man Gravely Injured Tress Association. —Copyright. Auckland, April 17.—Grave injuries to his head which later proved fatal were received by John G. Phillips, aged 65, single, of Huntly, when he was knocked down by a motor-car on the Great South Road near Huntly this evening. The motor-car, which was driven by Joseph Clark, Otahuhu, was crossing the railway line whon the accident occurred. Phillips, who was on foot, was thrown heavily He was taken to Huntly hospital and an ambulance was summoned to take him to Hamilton hospital, but he died before the ambulance arrived.
