Horse Killed ACCIDENT AT RICCARTON

Press Association.— Copyright. Christchurch, April 17.—One horse ■was killed and three jockeys were injured at Riccarton this afternoon. After the field had entered the straight in the Papanui Handicap Scarlet Robe (R. E. Coveny), Errantry (C. E. Eastwood), Heather Glow (A. H. Eastwood) I and St. Joan (A. Russell) fell. Scarlet E Rose was killed and the other three ' horses galloped riderless to the winning post. C. E. Eastwood is in hospital with a fractured left leg, but his condition is satisfactory. A. Russell was admitted to hospital with head injuries and concussion, but is conscious. His condition is satisfactory. R. Coveny received head injuries and is r,r«conscious, but his condition is not serious. A. H. Eastwood suffered a severely bruised shoulder and was ordered home to bed.
