EXCHANGE POLICY
Importers’ Opposition
Press Association.- —-Copyright# Wellington, April 11—The Wellington Importers’ Federation has passed a motion •‘endorsing the attitude of the New Zealand Importers’ Federation in its unswerving opposition to the Government’s reckless exchange policy and approving of the federation’s published statements on behalf of the business community as a protest against Governmental procedure which is disorganising business and undermining public confidence.”
“Further,” the motion states, “official attempts to withhold details of the obligations to the banks under the Exchange Indemnity Act until the end of the year will only add to the uncertainly felt by the entire community, and as the public has an unquestioned right to know the exact position at all times the association urges the Government to issue full details so that it will be possible for citizens to judge of the full effects of the utterly unwarranted and clearly damaging policy of inflated exchange.”
