HUGE IRRIGATION PROJECT
INCREASING PRODUCTIVITY OF OREGON New York Times Cable OWYHEE (Oregon), July 19.—The great Owyhee irrigation dam, which will hold in check a. 52-mile lake next spring and will provide water to irrigate 125,000 acres of semi-arid land in the Snake River valley of Oregon and Idaho, was formally dedicated yesterday. It was estimated that the Federal project would add up to 100,000,000 dollars annually to values produced from the soil of the region. Mi Wilbur, Secretary of Interior, was the principal speaker. Thousands of persons were carried to the dam by special railroad coaches and automobiles.
