SOME INTERESTING POSSIBILITIES The Hon. G. W. Russell, who was Minister of Internal Affairs in the War Cabinet, has for some time past been interesting himself in the ironsand industry, and during the past few days has paid a visit to Pa tea, whore, in company with Dir. A. T. Christensen, chairman of the Patea Harbour Board, and Messrs. A. IT. Hodge, A. N. Williams and Mr. H. G. Dickie. M.P., he made a thorough inspection of the vast ironsand deposits on the local fore shore, says (he Press. As a result 01 his inspection, Mr Russell considers there are great possibilties in connection with the ironsand industry, the development of which would be a big thing for Patea. The imports of iron and steel and their manufactures into New Zealand amount in value to between four and live million pounds per annum, and if the proposals Mr. Russell has in mind can lie given effect to there should be a big future for the town and district.
