Constable Rushton left for Welling. ton on official business this morning. Mr. Stanley Skuse, of the Hay of Plenty, is visiting his brother, the Rev T. Skuse. Mr. Austin Yarndley left today on :i business visit to Wellington. He will return on Monday. Inspector A. S. Rawle. New Ply. mouth, in charge of the Taranaki police district, paid a visit icf inspection to Stratford today. The Hon. R. Masters, Minister pf Education, apcbnipahied by his secre. tary, Mr. Slight, returned to Wellington today.
Mr; Coad, business manager of the Post and Telegraph Department, who has been visiting Stratford, returned to Wellington by this morning's ex. press. The late Mr. James McKenzie, who died in the Public Hospital, was formerly farming in Canterbury. He came to< Stratford some 40 years ago and has resided here ever since. Mrs. McKenzie predeceased him about 18 years ago. There was a family of three girls and three boys: Mrs. H. Worthington, Mahoe; Mrs. Leydon, Gisborne; the late Mrs. Pollock, Stratford; Mr. Ken McKenzie, Gisborne, and the late Messrs. Duncan'and William McKenzie. The late Mr. McKen. zie would have celebrated his 100th birthday in January, 1933. He had never suffered a day's illness in his life until he had a fall recently, necessitating his rempval to hospital. The pall-bearers at the funeral were Messrs. L. Hill, E. Worthington, Wl Dwyer and Campbell Jackson
