ELTHAM CLUB OPENS GREEN The official opening of the Elthain Club’s green was held yesterday. Rain in the morning made the surface heavy, but the green and appointments were in excellent order. Bowling, though there was little draw, wa*s keenly contested, some very fine play being witnessed. Prior to commencing the president’s v. vice-president’s match, Mr. Owen Casey, president of (he club, declared the green open. Mrs. A. R. Gower threw the pack, and Mr. H. G. Carman, the oldest playing member present, sent down the first bowl. Afternoon tea was served by the ladies.
