BUTTER SHOWS CHANGE MEAT ON IMPROVE The Bank of New Zealand has received the following advice from its London office as at close of business last week: Tallow.—There is a fair demand. Current quotations: Good mutton, 23s a cwt; good beef, 22s lid to 23s a cwt; good mixed, 22s Qd a cwt; gut, 16s to 19s a cwt.

Butter. —Weak; 117 s to lib's a cwt Cheese. —Weak. White, 56s a cwt.; coloured, 57s to 58s a cwt.

Frozen Meat. —There is a steady trade in wether mutton at: rather better values. Smaller supplies of ewes have caused prices to harden. The market is firmer for second quality lambs; first grade remain steady. There is a better inquiry and the outlook is brighter. The market is short of supplies of beef and prices are nominal.
