TENNIS OUT EAST During the week-end Whanga tennis teams journeyed to Marco tennis courts to play a return match. This time Marco Road were victorious by a wide margin, 14 sets (99" games) to 4 sets (28 games), thus making a win for each club. Anderson, president, presiding. A letter was read from Mrs. Foreman calling the committee's attention to a resolution passed at the last meeting regarding reverting to the previous season's rules. The writer claimed that the resolution was out of order and could be passed oidy at a general meeting. Mrs. Dean favoured taking no action this season. The president read rules 24 and 25 of the club relative to making rules and by-laws, and stated that It appeared that under rule 24 that the complaint was justified. A discussion followed and it was subsequently decided on Mr. Watter's motion that a special general meeting of the club be called at a date to be iixed by the secretary, who was to interview Mrs. Foreman with a view to her being present. A request from two junior boys to become members for the remainder of the season was granted, the subscription being fixed at 2s Gd each. A senior first-year player was admitted a member at a reduced subscription. Correspondence was read from the secretary of the Douglas Club inviting Whangamomona to send a team of four men and four women to play .ft fDou'glas on March 2!>, or as an alternative to bring a team of six men and six women to Whangamomona. It was decided to accept the alternative proposal and play Douglas on the Whangamomona courts. PERSONAL NOTES Mrs. M. Geever has returned from a holiday spent in Auckland. Mrs. 'Pott igrew (Patea) is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Robinson.
