SCOUTS AND GUIDES
THE CANTERBURY RALLY. CHRISTCHURCH, March 8. Nearly 3000 Boy Scouts and Girl Guides greeted Lord and Lady BadenPowell in a great Scout rally on the show ground yesterday. First there was a ceremonial march past in fours, the Chief Scout taking the salute. There were many special displays of Scout and Guide work. During the afternoon Lord BadenPowell addressed the gathering. He said. He said he was delighted with the rally, which was the best he had yet seen in New Zealand. The rally concluded with a "grand yell" and "rush" in which the whole body of Scouts and Guides, waving hats, staves and banners on high, charged down on the dais, giving thenScout yell.
