THE TOWN'S FOOTPATHS.

RE-GKAHED AJfD GRAVELLED. For the past three months the Borough staff has been engaged on the work of re-grading and gravelling many of the town footpaths. The paths on both sides of, Cloton Road from Juliet Street to Swansea Road have been' done, also one side of Fericon Street east. Work on the paths has been expedited by the finding of a good deposit of gravel on the river bank in Brecon Road riorth. The Brecon Road footpaths north of Regan Street, Pembroke Road as faxas Hamlet Street and the north side of Regan Street have been done with gravel from this pit. Since April Ist a total of 1530 cubic yards of gravel have been placed ori footpaths, the work being done by the Borough's permanent staff. Of thi s total 1200 yards came from the Swansea Road pit and 330 i yards from the Brecon Road pit. The new motor roller has been an unqualified success on footpath work, making a splen'did job and dealing with the material as fast as it could be spread. It has also been found very useful for patching macadam streets.
