GOLF NOTES.

(By “NIBLICK.”) The competitions for the 1930 season are now all complete and most of the members are deserting the links for the tennis court. The ladies championship was again won by Miss V. Sangster. Her opponent, Mrs Boon, managed to keep the game all square up to the 7th hole. Miss Sangster winning the Sth and 9th gave her a lead of two at the _turn. She also won’ the 10th, the 11th going to Mrs Boon. The 12th Avas halved, and Miss Sangster won the 13th, Mrs Boon sinking a long putt for a win at the 14th. Miss Sangster won the 15th, and ended the game, 4 up and 3. The competition for Miss Sahgster’s prize Avas Avon by Mrs Cur■tis, and a trophy presented by Mrs C. Williams Avent to Mrs Seyb. The final bogey match Avas played on Monday, and Mrs Boon, avlio returned a gross SG r making her all square Avith bogey, Avas the successful competitor. The .final round for the Boon Cup is still to be played. The junior championship in the men’s club Avas Avon by Mr Allen. Mr B. V. Kivell, avlio met Mr Allen in the final is quite a beginner, and ,Ava s only beaten on the last green by one putt. Congratulations, “Bert,” you look like a Avinner next year. For the captain’s prize, Mr Fisher and Mr Gill reached the final, and an interesting game ended in favour of Mr Fisher. The general closing day has been, postponed from Thursday, the 16th, until Saturday, 18th October.
