War Against Long Skirts
UNABATED IN OLD COUNTRY. lady Professor urges STRONG STAND. ADDRESS TO CITY GIRLS. Press Association —Copyright. (Received 10.10 a.m.) LONDON, October 15. The war against long skirts is unabated. The latest recruit is Professor Winifred Gullis, who urged a big gathering of city girls strongmindedly to oppose the reintroduction of long skirts. She said; “I shall be positively ashamed of women if they return to them. Do not let yourselves be led astray because some rich women who go about in large cars choose to wear them." Another edict was not to worry about being slim. “If you are naturally slim, you’ll be slim; if not, you won’t,” she said.
