Stratford won the premiership in i the Central Division junior competition by defeating Toko by G to 3 at Victoria Park yesterday. The game was hard and fast, and the quality of the play can bo judged from the fact that neither siido scored a try —all tho scores were from penalty kicks. It was a, forward tussle, and, taken all round, there was not much to choose between .flu! teams. Toko did not field its strongest team, but every man en tbo field worked hard. At times the quality of tho play suffered from over-eagerness, but ibis ww only natural in the circumstances.. Territorial advantage was chiefly with Stratford except in the last quarter of an hour, when Toko made a last effort to win and severely tested tine /Stratford defence in every department.
