CLEAN AMUSEMENT PLEA.
CANON AND “SACRIFICES TO MODERN MOLOuH OF LUXURY AND LICENSE.
Some outspoken remarks cn the Cliiistian ethic of amusement were made by Canon Guy Rogers, icctor of Birmingham, in a dinner-hour address at Birmingham Parish Church.
The creation of a Christian taste in matter of amusement had been
shamefully neglected, he said
It was a terrible crim e against God and against human personality
to exploit the lower passions for
private gain. This he know was done regrettably often.
How tar, he asked, was the beauty and youth of the chorus girl being sacrificed to the modern Moloch of
luxury and license?
