MACDONALD COAL MINE
WELLINGTON, July 30. in Ihe House of Representatives this evening the Hon. J. G. Coates asked what was the Government’s policy in relation In matters such as the lease of the MacDonald State Coal Mine. Had it considered calling public tenders, or had it considered working the mine on co-operative basis? He thought, the latter was the policy which was worthy, of adoption wherever possible. Mr 11. Semple stated he considered the House should have been consulted before the lease was granted.
