AUSTRALIAN GOLD MINING
DEPUTATION BONUS. CANBERRA, June 26. The Prime Minister (Mr J. H. Scul ]in) received a deputation representing the goldfields communities in the Com monwealth, who asked the Government to provide a bonus of 20s for every ounce of gold produce ' in tho Common wealth within the next ten years. The deputation argued that the bonus would stimulate the gold industry and would also help to solve the unemployment problem. Mr Sculliri replied hat he was not impressed with the arguments. The bonus might mean the expenditure of a huge sum with no assurance of the wonderful revival of the mining indus try such as had been pictured. How ever, he promised to submit the depu tation's representations to Cabinet.
