BURGLARS BUSY

TWO BUILDINGS ENTERED. UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPS ON TWO OTHERS. During last night burglars were busy in Stratford, but kq far as can bo learned they had a very poor time of it. Two buildings were entered, but two others resisted the efforts! to break in, and no losses of goods or money are reported. In the big front door of the Farmers' Co-op produce department there is a smaller door, and' an effort was made to prize this with a jemmy or chisel to free the tongue of the lock, but the lock stood the test, and entrance was not gained. On the opposite side of the road, two windows and the front door of Messrs. McMillan and Fredric's premises showed Jemmy marks, and indications are that an entrance was effected. Luck was very poor indeed in the.' attempt on the premises of Messrs. > R. H. White and Co., in Regan St. | east. A window was prized open, , the catch being broken, but iron I bars inside stopped further progress. Entrance was effected at the Public Works building by means of a) lavatory window, but nothing is re ported missing. The police are investigating.
