CITY STOREMAN CHARGED \ AUCKLAND, April 17. Shortly before 11 o’clock this morning, Detective-Sergeant Doylo arrested in the city Dominic Daniel Petty, it middle-aged storeman, on theft charges Later, when Petty appeared at the Police Court, he was charged that on divers dates between October 1 and April 10 last he stole 198 bags of ch&M, oats and wheat, of a total valno of £214 7s Gd, the property of tho National Mortage and Agency Company of New Zealand Ltd. Detective-Sergeant Kelly obtained a remand until April 24 and Mr Hunt granted bail, himself in £IOO and one surety of £IOO, but refused an application * for suppression of the name, “Why,” he said, “a man might leave this court with these charges hanging over his head and obtain credit.”
