- —- AUCKLAND POWER BOARD’S VISIT. AUCKLAND, Sept. 5. Reporting a visit of the Auckland ! Power Hoard to the Arapuni hydro--1 electric works the Waikato Times states that although interruptions varying in extent in the power supplied may be expected as the result of operations in connection with the spillway they are j not. expected to be very serious, i It is gratifying to learn that the oroi sion below the spillway has ceased none ! having taken place since August 20. The engineering staff gives the assurance that the situation is wo'l in hand and there is no fear for the safety of the spillway. Extensive tests will be | made during the next few days in rc- ' ■ gard to the diversion of the water, i Upon these will depend the nature ot i the protect ive works to be undertaken.
