HAS MODERN PROTESTANTISM BACKSLIDDEN

ADDRESS BY PASTOR HARVEY. “Has modern protestantiism backslidden” was the title of an address given .I)3' Pastor Harvey before a good attendance at the Medina Tea Rooms last night. In this age of the world), perhaps as never before in the history of the* church, the line of'd'emaircration is being drawn between truth and error, said Pastor Harve3 r . Every soul .will be tested as to be where he stands and it will be only Bible truth that will enable the man to find his way through |t)he fog of mysticism which cloud much of the religious teaching of the present time.

The great Christian Church to-day is confronted with a species of subtle, insidious skepticism quite unknown to the ages of the past. Some of the religious teachers present - a strange spectacle, as they deny some of the fundamental principles upon which the plan of salvation is based They use their sacredi office to pull down that wlicih they are (supposed to he set to uphold. And the sad feature of it is that these men not only deceive themselves,’ but draw others off into the mazes of doubt «md unbelief, leaving them stranded and shipwrecked, without hope and without God in the world. The enemy 0 f all truth is. seeking t 0 undermine the very foundations of the Christian faith. He no longer finds his best emissaries to bo such men as Thomas Paine, and Roberts Incpvsoll, nor bis best method of attack the course, blatant utterances of tbeso apostles of unbelief.
