He was elected the first Mayor of Eltham in 1901, and had continuously v represented) the borough either ais Mayor or Councillor. He was of a genial and: kindly disposition and was popnlnV wi+h all classes of the community. He is survived hy a widow, two tsons and a daughter. His eldest son was killed on active service on Gallipoli.
