By VERONICA) j SOCIAL AND PERSONAL. Miss Beswick returned, from Wangahui after a delightful week-end spent with frienclfa. Miss Denuitdoai (Ohristchurclr), is the guest of her sister Mrs H. Abraham. Mrs Mogini (Auckland) who Las been visiting Mrs Leslie; Curtis, left on Tuesday morning. Mr and Miss Mann returned on Monday from Wangamui, accompanied by Miss Nancy Petrie. Miss M. Malone and Miss O. Uniacko were the guests of Mrs Meyrick far the Hawera Assembly. Mrs Leslie Curtis gave an enjoyable bridge evening for her guests, Mrs and Miss Mogini. '.'Mrs Uniacke bad some friends for bridge on Saturday night. Mrs Lyons'had a very jolly bridge afternoon on Tuesday. Mrs Jeffries entertained some friends at bridge on Tuesday night. [ Mrs King had also some friends for bridge on, Tuesday. Mrs Noel Fookes (Waitara) being one of the gxiests.

Mrs H. Abraham . gave a bridge afternoon on Wednesday for her sister, Miss Denniston (Christchurch). The euchre party under the auspices of the "Druids Lodge" had a. pleasant evening in the Parish Hall 'on Wednesday. Some one —or many ones —mnst have been working hard to' make the "High School Old Pupil's Association's dance" the .unqualified success it was. I have it on very good authority that it was quite the best dance the "Old Pupils" have had since say 1024, and that is saying a great deal, indeed!.. The decorations were quite outstanding, many coloured.! lights .being effectively used toi show up the school colours, which of course were the key note of the decoration \ scheme.
