MAN! SENTENCED FOR BIRTH] CONCEALMENT, WOMAN NOT IMPRISONED, TIMARU, Last Night. Lomond Kennedy was sentenced ten isix months' Imprisonment to-day for concealment of a birth. On a similar charge, Junita Winifred Wilce 'Was ordered to be detained, till that day's sitting concluded. Mr. Justice Adamsi remarked that in view of Kennedy's treatment of the girl ah<J the fact that she had been, in custody for the past fortnight, he did, not propose to send her toi prison. In the case against Martin Joseph Melville, Temuka, who was chalrged with supplying an instrument for an unlawful purpose, the jury failed to agree and a re>trial was ordered for next session.
Bernard Lewis Black well was sentenced to four months' imprisonment for a breach of his probation order.
