WHANGA SUBUNION. TRIAL MATCH NORTH V. SOUTH TANGARAKAU, This Day. (Special to “Post”. This match was played at Whangaiinomona on Saturday, and proved an excitingly interesting game. The play of tlie backs of both sides was rather poor, the handling being very bad, hut; the following up ana tackling was above the average. The Rugby competition in South Taranaki primary schools has nowbeen completed. In the senior competition Okaiawa were the winners in the Manaia district and Eltham in the StratfordHawera district. The final game was played at Hawera last Friday afternoon, and after a hard tussle the decision went to Okaiawa. by 3 points to nil. 1 In the junior competition the winners in the districts were Hawera district, Turutnrii; Western district, Pihama; Eltham district, Eltham Public; Stratford district, Stratford Convent. In one semi-final Stratford Convent beat Eltham Public. The other semifinal and the final are, still to play.
