TRAGEDY OF THIRST
FATAL MOTOR TRIP. SEVEN PEOPLE DIE IN DESERT. FEARFUL HEAT. (Received 9.0 a.m.) NEW YORK, July 26. San Francisco messages state a tragedy of thirst was revealed as searchers followed the zig-zag ti ail of wheel print in the California desert near Miland until they; came upon the bodies 01, six people, sprawled face downwards in the sand. These had been passengers in a motor car which had been found by a search party. Under the car itself was the body of a seventh passenger. He bad crawled under the vehicle to seek relief from the burning temperature of one hundred and five degrees.
