SOUTHERN CROSS REACHES DERBY
BEST TRIP OF OUR LIVES.
LEAVING FOR SINGAPORE. SYDNEY, June 26. The Southern Cross landed at Derby at 10.30 t.his morning, West Australian time. It will leave for Singapore about four o'clock to-morrow, weather permitting, says a late message, which does not agree, with earlier ones. The Southern Cross crew sent a message to Sydney saying all were very tired after the 22 hours in the air, but had h'ad the best trip qf their lives.
They would remain at Derby a couple of days to ascertain the weather conditions before hopping off for Singapore.. They must time their departure so as not to arrive at the Rangoon racecourse, tin. Saturday, when a race 1 meeting will be ,in progress.
