DOMAIN BOARD APPROVES PARK DAY SUGGESTIONS

EASTER MONDAY TENTATIVELY DECIDED UPON ALL FUNDS to he used for PARK. The recommendations of the subcommittee of the Domain Bord set np to deal with the proposed P’ark Day were discussed at a special meeting of the Domain Board last night. The recommendations were approved, and will he brought before a public meeting of citizens to be held on Monday evening next. Easter Monday was tentatively selected as a suitable day. The Mayor made it clear that all proceeds' obtained would be for the park, and no a implication to run stalls, etc., for any other purpose on that day could' be entertained.

Those present at the meeting were; The Mavor (Mr J. W. McMillan), Crs H. 0. North, N. B. Flet-

cher, O. Moore, J. McKee, A. Nelson, Mr H. O. Johnson and Mr P. Skoglund (Town Clerk). CAN BE RUN SUCCESSFULLY. “I am quite satisfied, as are the members of the sub-committee appointed to consider the matter, that a Park Day can be run successfully,” said the Mayor in moving that the recommendation of the sub-commit-tee in regard to the holding of the function, be confirmed. The Town Clerk ,(Mr P. jSkoglund) read a list of proposed attractions. Particulars of these have been published in these columns previously. The events, he said, could be added to later if it should he desired. The idea was that events should be going on all day so that there would he something to interest everybody-

On the suggestion of Or J. McfKed, it was decided to add a tug-of-war to the list prepared l>y the subcommittee.

The date was then discussed. Mr H. 0. Johnson saying that there was not usually any function in Stratford on Easter Monday, and he was of opinion that that day would be quite suitable. The Mayor agreed, and a recommendation to public meeting was decided upon accordingly.
