Mr W. P. Kirkwood, Of Sydney, is on a holiday visit to Stratford.

visit to Stratford, left this morning on return to her home at Gisborne.

Mr H. 0. M. Bree, Chief Postmaster at Wanganui, who retired from the service yesterday, was presented by the staff with an oak tray, a silver tea set and a set of bowls.

Mrs F. J. Hopkins left hy the mail (train this morning for Wellington. where she will join the Corinth ic for a trip to England. On her trip she will be accompanied by her twin neices, daughters j °f Mr and Mrs S. Clark. Mrs Clark, Miss C. Clark and Miss M. Buchanan also left by this morning’s train to hid the party farewell at Wellington.
