A commencement will shortly be made) with the laying of the rails on the first section. The greater portion of the trucks have been ordered and the locomotive has already arrived in the Dominion from England. Xu the meantime the mine is being worked to a limited extent in connection with the supply of coal to the Public Works Department, some 700 tons having been delivered during January. No attempt will be made to increase the present output until the f completion of the steam tramway to he Flat. Several trial trucks of coal have been sent down the 1 line at the request of certain large consumers and the results have been very satisfactory indeed.
