SUGGESTED GARDEN PARTY.

The Domain Board last night gave a cordial recepuon %q a proposal bj the Mayor QsLv. J. >V. McMillan; lor tiio liokliii<r oj[ a, garden party for the purpose, of popularising Jiing lulward Paris and raising funds ior the Board.
Mr. McMillan said a garden party might be held annually. Country people, should be encouraged to attend. There miight Lq special trains from the east, north and south. .The park was well worth a visit from anybody. In addition to hot water and milk, tea might be provided. A charge of one, shilling might be made, for adults and sixpence for children, or children might be admitted free, Such a garden party would bring the people of Stratford in touch with the country people, and the local people would be made familiar with one another. The gathering might be arranged for the beginning of March. He felt sure that not twenty per cent, of Stratford people knew of the charms of King Edward Park, and'he felt sure that when people knew the park properly they would help the. Board more.
Mr. McKee moved that arrangements bo left in the hands of the Mayor, Messrs. Thomson and Johnson, Cr. Ward and the Town Cleric, and that they report on a probable program mo" and suggest a date.
Or. Lawson seconded. Cr. Ward thought that matter should] be discussed by a pnfclio meeting. The Horticultural Society could bo relied o» to make a success of any thine; floral undertaken, and the school children could be asked to helo. Or. McKee'a motion was carried.
