Mr. Robert Masters returned from Wellington yesterday. Miss R. V. Patterson left by the mail train this morning for Wangantii where she intends taking up her permanent residence. f ' The estate of the late SHou. Elsie Mackay, who lost her life when attempting to fly from England tb America, amounted to £682,517. Death duties amounting , to £193,292 were payable, and the greater part 1 of the balance cf the estate Jias been donated by her family towlrds the fund for the redemption of the national debt. The funeral of the local victims ot the motor cycle tragedy on Thursday night (Messrs. Roberts and Johnson) was held on Sunday afternoon. The sendee at the Catholic Church was largely attended, and many „motor cars followed the hearses to the Kopuatama cemetery. The caskets were covered with numerous beautiful flortributes. Pall-bearers were as follows: For Mr. Roberts: Messrs. A. and T. Sullivan, J. Rothery, S. Garvie, J. Grant and K. Donnelly; for Mr. Johnson Messrs. C. and J. W Gracia, A Rudings, W Worthington and L-. Grant. Father McLaughlin officiated at the graveside.
