TANKER THOUGHT TO HAVE SUNK. : OV , FORTY-EIGHT ON BOARD. M‘t vc (Received 9.15 a.m.) BOSTON, October 24. The steamer West Carnifax, which has arrived from Alandria, fears the American tanker David C. Reid with forty-eight of a crew, floundered near the Azores in a gale on October 15. Following a. S.O.S. call the Carnifax found only oil for miles and a vegetable box at the position given. The David C. Reid was bound from Samarang (Java) for Philadelphia. Australian' P.A,
