TARANAKI BANDS UNION
RULES ADOPTED. THE COMING CONTEST, Mr P. Skogluud, president, was in thq chair at last night’s meeting of the Taranaki Brass and Pipe Bands Union. Rules, as revised at a previous meeting, were discussed and adopted. Mr R. J. Estall, conductor of the Woolston Band, Christchurch, was selected as adjudicator for the brass bands section at the contest to he held in New Plymouth in March. The amount of prize money and trophies to be allotted! was loft in the hands of a local committee, which is to be arranged by New Plymouth members. There was a discussion on the matter of holding periodical solo, trio and quartette contests, and it was held over till after the New Plymouth contest. v , ■ The adjudicator is to be. asked to procure 'the test music with as little delay; as ; possible. Tt was decided ,to send a letter to Mr W. G. 'McLeod, congratulating him on bis recent appointment) to the Ipswich Band, and wishing him every ■aiccess.
