LONDON FAREWELL. LONDON. “To learn before talking—this is our mission,” said Sir Arthur Duckham, leader of the “Big Four”, who are to visit Australia to study development, at Victoria station this morning. A large crowd hade them farewell, including Sir Granville Ryrie (Australian High Commissioner). The Daily Mail’s political correspondent says that tl\e British Government officials arranging for the transportation of the “Big Four” to Australia have at last realised that an effort must be mad'e to reduce taxation. They struck the first blow in Australia. “The Empire had secured the ripe experience of four leading business men, who had sacrificed six months’ valuable time to the public sei-vice. A grateful Government notified it si intention to allow them a first-class return fare, and 10s a day while aboard to meet all extra expenses and. tips. The Government provides clerical assistance', but' no office accommodation aboard. There will be much work necessary going and coming, and because the Government was not able to meet the expenditure of £4OO for office accommodation, the “Big Four” are themselves defraying the expenses, presumably from the 10s a day.
