A message from Loudon announces the death of Lord Birkenhead’s mother. Mr J. W. Pooiey, Registrar of Electors, returned yesterday from a visit to the eastern part of the electorate. The Avon Bowling Club is losing one of its Rest members iiv Mr C. Cropton, who leaves ishortly to reside in Haweip, and members of the club have mails a parting present to him of a. solid leather bowling bag. Mr ,T. Fredric left this morning for Wellington, where h© will ho joined by Messrs Duff (New Plymouth) iaud Spragg (IlaWeru), and they will wait on the Minister of Internal Affair s as a deputation from Taranaki Acclimatisation Societies to ask for assistance in connection witti the establishment of a central hatchery for Taranaki.
