The Sultan of Muscat made a flight over London in an air liner during his visit to Croydoni aerodrome, and greatly enjoyed the experience. He also showed particular interest in light aeroplanes. A small 3Q horsepower Avro-Oirrus-Avian which was housed with) the wings folded in a hangar no larger than an ordinary car garage, was taken out of its shed, the wings swung into position, the emgine started, and the machine flown off, all in 1 minute 40 seconds. DOWN IN A SUBMARINE. At Portsmouth to-day, the Sultan of Muscat embarked in submarine L2o which then performed a number of. diving exercisesi in Spithead with the destroyers Empire and Truant as escorts and the mine-sweeping sloop Ross as the target ship, at which the Sultairt released a dummy torpedo. After the exercises the des;troyer{&i returned Itio (harbour and the Ross preceded L 25 to Southamp* ton, where the Sultan wag landed at a berth in the ocean dock. A visit to a liner followed. At Portsmouth the Sultan inspected Nelson's flagship the Victory.
