The Acclimatisation Societies confere nee carried/ remit s providing that rangers should have the right to sefirch parcels in transit in cases under the Fisheries Act, similar to the powers given under the Ammal s Protection and Game Act; that in all cases of conviction for the illegal taking of trout, in addition to; a fine, a further penalty of five shillings per fish be inflicted for those taken; and that tho Government be requested to take steps to prohibit the importation, sale or use of the double bocks known (a s stroke-hauler’s hooks. ~ It was decided to recommend that the issuing of licenses bo discontinued.
