The Channel swimmer Ivy Haw-, kins, cf Brighton and Frank Perks of Birminghma, left Cape ■ Grisney at 9.47 p.m. and 10.2 p.m. respectively on Saturday. Perks sO°n overtook Miss Hawkins but gave up at 8.7 a.m. to-day five miles from England. Miss Hawkins was successful hnd landed at Saint Margarets Bay at 5.30 p.m. after being nearly twenty hours in the water. Tlie swim was carried out under official' supervision. —Australian Press Assn.
