The Channel swimmer Ivy Haw-, kins, cf Brighton and Frank Perks of Birminghma, left Cape ■ Grisney at 9.47 p.m. and 10.2 p.m. respectively on Saturday. Perks sO°n overtook Miss Hawkins but gave up at 8.7 a.m. to-day five miles from England. Miss Hawkins was successful hnd landed at Saint Margarets Bay at 5.30 p.m. after being nearly twenty hours in the water.
