LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIP. WIN FOR STRATFORD T.H.S. *By de'fdating the Hawera High School team at Hawera yesterday by one goal to nil Stratford T.H.S. won. the Taranaki ladies' hockey championship. ■■ . Stratford played ivith. the wind in the first spell, and attacked' strongly. Miss Newlave finding the not from a corner hit hiter a quarter of am hour's pkrv, Play went up and down the. field ifov the rest of the spell, half time sounding with the Hawera team on tjie defence. In the second spell Hawera played up and had a fair share of the play. Play went up rand down the field' and both sides were unlucky not to wore. .Stratford narrowly missed scoring on several occasions, but the good work of the (Hawiera goal-keeper saved the situation.
