The Government Meteorologist (Dr. K Kidson) telegraphed the following forecast for the 24 hours from 9 a.m. to-day:—< I The indications are for westerly winds moderate to strong, backing by west to south and freshening. The weathe,/ will probably prove squally and changeable, cold and showery, with snow on high country. Barometer rising.
