OIL STRUCK
SMALL QUANTITY FOUND. ' INDICATION AT WHANGA. A" good deal of interest was caused locally by the reported discovery of oil at Whaiipjimomona. Though, investigations show that the quantity found is small, tho "Post" has been informed on reliable authority that the indications are particularly good and that it is thought there is every chance of; a good deposit being reached. '■'.•' Boring Was been in operation lor some time and it i s understood that a layer of stone has been reached ■and here a small seepage of oil has been met with. The opinion is expressed that the stone la|yer Covers a. good deposit and it should he possible to tap this very soon.
