DEFICIT'S SHOWN. STATES SHOW LOSSES ALSO. SYDNEY, July 2. The Federal deficit is likely to be three-quarters of a milium sterling;. It is the first deficit since Dr. Page became treasurer five years ago. The State deficit will be between _ one million one hundred and one million two hundred, which is four hundred thousand less than Mr Bavin estimated some months ago. The South Australian Government's financial year closed with a deficit-of £277,126 and a substantial deficit is expected by the Victorian Government—Australian Press Association.
