An Auckland yachtsman, Lewis Milton Wood had a miraculous escape last night when the cighteenfooter Solace capsized at anchor in a" sudden squall off Puru on the Thames coast. Wood, who was on a solitary cruise, lashed himself to the yacht, which floated awash. The capsize occurred at 3.30 in the afternoon'and Wood was not rescued until the yacht was run into by the Whakatiti at 12.45 this morning off Tararau. Wood is suffering from exposure.
