THE ANNUAL REPORT
The following report will Vje presented at to-morrow's annual meeting of members of th e Stratford Bowling Club:
The green opened in October in. splendid weather and visitors were present- from Avon, Eltham, Hawera, Pihama, New Plymouth, West End, Tariki, Inglewood and other clubs. All spent a most enjoyable afternoon, which proved a fitting opening to a most successful season.
JJiMng the season the clublS premises'needed more attention than was usual. Thi s had not improved the nnancial position.
The playing season had been a meat successful one. The club had received visits from nearly Srery elub in Taranaki. The shield final and the North v. South match were played on th 0 Stratford green.
Owing to the introduction of summer time, the members had more, and thus had improved the? standard of the game.
The club competitions resulted,: — A championship, J. S.__ Lyons; J* championship, I'. Coe; colts' championship, J. Hampson; Easter pairs, A. E. Rowell (s) and 0. Thompson (lead); Easter pairs nmners-np, T. McllrOy and T. Lawson ; sealed handicap, 13. Leach. In the central division championship J. S. Lyons represented the clnb'and succeeded in winning. The position of greenwarden had been capably filled by Mr A. H. R. Amess, who had given the players a good green all the season. THE AVON OLUB. \t a meeting of the committee of the Avon Bowling Club on Tuesday evening the draft of the report to bo presented at the annual meeting tomorrow evening was submitted and approved. I Seven new members were elected.
